2025 Flower Show
Celebrating Boone County’s 225th Anniversary

The Flower Division is under the supervision of the Boone County Garden Club.
1. Entries open to anyone interested in gardening and arranging. Each exhibitor is permitted one
entry in each class or subdivision of a class. Only one exhibit allowed in each class. Only one
exhibit allowed in each class, for one household.
2. The specimen in the horticulture division must be grown by exhibitor and be correctly labeled
as to variety. In the design division, plant material need not be grown by exhibitor, but must
be arranged by exhibitor. No painting of fresh plant material. Artificial flowers or foliage not
acceptable. An award will be given only if entry merits an award.
3. Entries will be received between 8:00─11:30 am on Thursday, June 26. Entries must be
claimed between 2:00─4:00 pm on Sunday, June 29.
4. The decision of the judges is final. To be judged according to the handbook of the National
Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc.
5. Only required personnel will be allowed in the hall during judging.
6. Read your schedule carefully. Be certain your exhibit conforms to the specified requirements.
7. Container grown plants must have been in possession of exhibitor at least three months.
8. The flower show committee will exercise all care, but cannot be responsible for loss or
breakage of containers or accessories.
AWARDS:
The standard system of awarding will be used with one blue, one red and one yellow ribbon
awarded in each class. The following awards will be presented if merited:
Best of Show...will be presented to the finest exhibit in the design division and the finest
exhibit in the horticulture division.
Sweepstakes Awards...To the single exhibitor with the greatest number of blue ribbons in
the design division and to the single exhibitor with the greatest number of blue ribbons in the
horticulture division.
Junior Achievement...Award to the outstanding design exhibitor in the junior division.

OPEN CLASS
• Exhibitor should bring clear bottles to show specimens.
• Bottles and Flowers should be uniform in size.
• Specimen must have foliage attached but not under the water line. Only Gladiolus
permitted to have foliage in water.
