Beverly Burcham devoted countless hours to the
Boone County Fair over many years, serving with
remarkable dedication and heart. As the director of
the Boone County Pageants and Chairwoman of the
Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows
Miss Beauty Pageant, she guided generations of
young women with grace, integrity, and an
unwavering commitment to excellence. Her
leadership and vision fostered confidence and poise
in the lives of so many young women.
While many knew of her work with pageants
at the state and local levels, she also had a deep sense
of community and a never-ending spirit of hospitality.
Her love for growing beautiful flowers, creating
arrangements, cooking and canning fruits and vegetables,
and sharing her talents and treasures with others brought tremendous joy
to both her and those around her. That passion led her to serve as
Co-Chairwoman of the Flower Show at the Boone County Fair each year,
where she proudly celebrated the creativity and dedication of local
gardeners through horticulture and floral design.
And when she wasn’t busy with
pageants or flowers, you could often find
Beverly around the center ring and in the
exhibitors’ entry booth, enjoying the horse
shows, visiting with long-time friends and
catching up with those she might only see
once a year at the fair. Those moments of
fellowship and tradition were just as special
to her as the events themselves.
She had a knack for bringing family,
friends, and others together to work on
countless projects, and the fair was one of
her favorites. Through her tireless
dedication, Beverly created opportunities,
memories, and traditions that will continue
to bloom for years to come. We honor her
legacy and celebrate the lasting difference
she made in the lives of many.
